Finally, another update!

Well, it has been over a year since I last wrote something here. That either means we have given up, or we have been busy. Take a guess which one it is!

The car has been coming along, slowly at times and on other occasions making progress in leaps and bound. At present it is away having some finishing touches put to the all important areas of stopping and starting, and we aim to be back on the track before the end of the season.

As the car has a new look I have been working hard on a new look for the website due for launch at the same time as the car – much like the car itself, there isn’t much left to do on the website, and the first update after launch will see the new look go live.

For this season we will be racing in Super Pro, and are still aiming to compete in NFAA, possibly as soon as next season. Talking of the NFAA, huge congratulations to Joe Bond on getting his license at the NSRA Nostalgia Nationals recently – it was a great weekend with some most un-British weather, topped off by seeing Joe achieve his dream. We look forward to racing you!

Winter Updates

Yes, I know updates have not been very frequent on this site recently, but there is one here now so make the most of it.

Although actually there is not much to say. The car is progressing albeit slowly, and we hope to be on the track sometime this year. We are all looking forward to the upcoming season and are very excited by the prospect of more blown Pro Mods and even more so by the NFAA. Fuel Altereds are an amazing site, and maybe one day we will even get to race with them.

More news when there is actually some to report.

Mantorp Park 2004

Although Time Machine Racing are not competing in Sweden this year team members Martin, Adam and new recruit Tanya will be spectating at the event, and have plans to provide live updates.

These will consist of the usual random observations and odd comments to be expected from a group of racers on the wrong side of the fence, and so may or may not make for good reading. See more at http://www.timemachine.co.uk/liveupdates/2004/Sweden/ to stay informed.

Time Machine Racing sit out 2004

You may have noticed that Time Machine Racing have not been very active recently, with our last public appearance being at the Xtreme Wheels 2004 show and our last race meeting being the Halloween Showdown. After spending last season learning and possibly attempting to go too far too fast, we decided to sit back and examine our plans for the future. We decided that 2004 would be a slower year for us, and we would spend the beginning of the year rebuilding the car, ready to take to the track properly.

As some of you may have heard, we had plans to acquire a new body for the car, and I am pleased to say that it is coming along nicely, currently sitting in Crew Chief Darren Galloway’s back garden. However, due to some family matters and a career change for team owner Bob Gleadow, we have decided to sit the year out before coming back ready to race in 2005. Rest assured we have not been sitting back and twiddling our thumbs though, we have been spending the time stripping the car down and going through it thoroughly to ensure that when we do return to the track we are ready to race. We have also found the time to kit ourselves out with a purpose built transporter featuring luxury accomodation and kitchen (always important!), and are currently working on our new body to get it just the way we want it.

Although we are huge fans of Supercharged engines, we have decided that we simply do not have the time necesarry to maintain one between rounds, so have decided to put our supercharged Small Block Chevrolet up for sale (see For Sale page for details) and will be racing with an engine requiring less maintenance next season – if you have a normally aspirated Big Block Chevy for sale then please get in touch via our website.

We’d like to thank Les Downey of Lucas Oil Products (UK), Bob Glassup and Doug Ripley for their continuing help, and look forward to returning to the track next year.

Time Machine Racing announce joint venture with Lucas Oil Products (UK)

Time Machine Racing are pleased to announce that as of this season they will be able to supply pre paid orders of Lucas Oil Products to the racetrack for you, eliminating delivery charges and meaning you have the oil exactly where you need it. We are currently taking orders for the Easter Thunderball, so if you are interested please fill in the contact form, contact Bob on 07748 300762, or come and visit us at the Xtreme Wheels 2004 show, and we will provide a quote for your requirements. Details of products available are listed on the Lucas Oil Products website and if you have any special needs we will attempt to meet these. We will also be selling products directly at the Xtreme Wheels show with special offers available – a litre of Heavy Duty Stabilizer will be available for just £9.99, and we will be giving away Fuel injector cleaner / Upper cylinder lubricant with every purchase (while stocks last).

Later this year we will be launching a website which will carry details of all the products available, prices, and a form which will allow you to place an order quickly and easily, though online payment will not be available to begin with. We are happy to discuss bulk order discounts, and will be offering discounts to racers who carry Lucas Oil Products decals. Finally, if you run a business and would like to become an outlet for Lucas Oil Products please get in touch.
