These superb people all work together as a perfect team to enable us to enjoy ourselves fully at the race track while getting all necessary work done. Without any of them a race meeting would be a lot more difficult.

Bob Gleadow - Team Owner

Back in the 1960’s when drag racing was beginning to find its feet in this country, Bob and his brother Mick were working in a catering van selling hot dogs at an early Drag meet. By the end of the day they were hooked, and decided that they had to have a go at this amazing sport. Shortly after returning home, work on the first car commenced. Since that time, Bob has in one way or another been involved in the sport within the UK, and once even drove the rollers at Santa Pod to start Don Garlits. As well as organising all the team logistics, he performs the vital tasks of keeping the crew fed and watered over the course of a race meeting.

Darren Galloway - Crew Chief

Darren got into drag racing by replying to an advert placed by Fay Fischer, who was looking for a new crewman for her Super Pro dragster. When Fay was asked to drive Bob’s Top Alcohol Dragster, Darren naturally became a part of the Alcohol team, and was fundamental in its successes. When Bob, Martin and Adam stopped Top Alcohol racing in 1999, Darren went to crew for Martin Canto on the ex Time Machine 5 Top Alcohol Dragster, which was then being driven by photographer Darryl Bradford. Darryl soon decided to step up to Top Fuel, and Darren went with him to build the new car and crew for him on the John Wright tuned machine, competing against the best in Europe. Now Darren brings his experience and dedication to Time Machine Racing, and we can think of no-one we would rather have maintaining the car.

Martin Gleadow - Tuner

Martin has quietly worked his way through many classes within Drag Racing, starting as a wheel polisher in Pro ET, moving up through the classes with Gleadow Brothers Racing, until he found himself in charge of the computer on a Top Methanol Dragster, and part of a winning team in Norway. When he started University he decided to take a break from Drag Racing, at the same time as Bob decided to concentrate on his business. However, after a few weeks or so away from the sport, the craving set in, and they couldn’t stay away. With the time constraints felt by both of them a big car was not possible, so Adam got to drive a Junior Dragster, and Martin became Crew Chief for him. Martin is looking to get behind the wheel of a car one day (ideally a slingshot) but for now is taking responsibility for the clutch on Motor Psycho.

Adam Gleadow - Driver

Like Martin, Adam was born in to drag racing and has been on the team since he could hold a polishing cloth. He started his driving career in Junior Dragster, where he was the first UK Junior Drag Racer to compete outside the UK at Hockenheim in 2001 where he collected a second place trophy. During his 3 years in the class he collected many trophies, and is looking forward to driving Motor Psycho. Adam has a deep passion for Fuel Altereds, and looks forward to getting behind the wheel of one. He graduated from NEWI with a degree in Motorsports Engineering and now works as an Engine Builder.

Tanya Gleadow

Tanya has joined Time Machine Racing from the world of ‘going round corners’, as she is a qualified Fire Marshal on the Emergency Services team at Silverstone. Married to Martin, she became addicted to Drag Racing since her first experience at the 2004 Main Event. Tanya has been with the team since then, and is not afraid to turn her hands to anything requiring attention from turning spanners to cooking roast dinners for the crew. She has also been responsible for some of the lettering seen on Motor Psycho, and one day would like a pink ‘57 Chevy. The kids at school never believe her about the car.

Ben Rushforth

Ben helps out on Motor Psycho when is able to and brings fantastic fabrication and engine building skills to the team. Ben has been around drag racing for many years and is on the crew of several teams. He is also currently putting the finishing touches to his race spec Pop. Along with Darren, Ben is responsible for inspection and maintenance of the engine.
